The TBBO Blair Bollinger Bass Trombone is the result of a close collaboration between Blair Bollinger, Steve Shires, and the craftsmen at S.E. Shires. This unique instrument features several specific design elements that set it apart from other S.E. Shires trombones.
The Blair Bollinger system, with its dual independent Thayer valves, facilitates playing scales and arpeggios with a minimum of slide positions. The heavy slide with its interchangeable branches and special brace offers quick response and clear, precise articulations.
To complement these features, the yellow brass bell produces a broad and rich sound, ideal for playing in orchestras or large ensembles.
This model is made in the USA and includes a Bollinger two-piece 9.5 inch (241.3 mm) yellow brass bell, an independent Thayer system with optimized Blair Bollinger geometry, a custom Blair Bollinger yellow brass tuning slide, a Bollinger conical 0.56 / 0.58 inch (14.24 / 14.68 mm) yellow brass slide with nickel silver crook, and a custom leadpipe.
Three yellow brass leadpipes are included, along with a hand-engraved bell, a hard case, and a Shires mouthpiece.
