In May 2008, Rainer Lafin, in Germany, signed an agreement with Brannen to construct his flute headjoints.
These are not Brannen headjoints: they are authentic Lafin headjoints! These flute headjoints have a unique style with Adler 'wings'.
The influence of Albert Cooper and his headjoint style are shared by Brannen-Cooper® and Lafin.
While Brannen-Cooper® joints are based on the research and drawings of Albert Cooper, Rainer Lafin also worked with Albert Cooper to develop his own design.
After a period of trial and experimentation, Mr. Lafin began to manufacture his own headjoints.
To this day, he regularly experiments with new ideas to enhance the playing characteristics of his headjoints.
As a result, the very design of Lafin headjoints changes slightly with some frequency in order to make the flutes even more performant.
LAFIN headjoints are made in Germany.
